Dr.Catherine Mc Kinley, a native of Belfast, has been practising paediatric dentistry since 1995. Catherine graduated with honors from the Dental School at Trinity College, Dublin in 1990 and started her career with 5 years in general dentistry. In 1995, Catherine married Joseph Mahon, a classmate from dental school and began speciality training in paediatric dentistry at the
University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.
There she completed a two-year, full-time, residency program in paediatric dentistry followed by a third year, in a research and clinical teaching fellowship. Catherine remained as a part-time clinical assistant professor at the dental school while joining a group practice in San Antonio in 1999.
In 2004, Catherine opened her own private practice in San Antonio and was awarded certification by the American Board of Paediatric Dentistry in the same year, also becoming a Fellow of the American Academy of Paediatric Dentistry. After 14 enjoyable years in Texas and now having six children, Catherine and Joseph decided to return to Ireland and are very happy to have made Kilkenny their home. Catherine practices alongside Joseph Mahon, prosthodontist, Dr. Michel Ormond, orthodontist and Dr. Melissa Lee, periodontist in a multi-speciality, state of the art setting at the Kylemore Clinic, Kilkenny.
